The Royal Rumble just took place. Read my last post for an introduction about this PPV. This one is for the results. There were 3 pre-show matches and 5 matches on the main card.

Smackdown 1/10: Wyatt Family Over?

Smackdown Live 1/10 took place in Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
At the beginning, we see Dean Ambrose come out. He announces that he will be entering the Royal Rumble. He starts the Ambrose Asylum and welcomes his guest The Miz. The Miz tells Ambrose to hand the title back, but instead, Ambrose gives the Miz a participation award, the very one that the Miz gave to him a while back. The Miz gets really mad and attacks Ambrose. He holds Ambrose. Maryse tries to slap Dean but Dean ducks down resulting in Maryse slapping the Miz. Dean Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds on the Miz and hands the award to Maryse and leaves.
Nikki Bella vs. Natalya
Nikki Bella is walking backstage and is attacked by Natalya. She rushes into the ring and tackles Natalya, punching her and attacking her. The fighting goes back and forth and Natalya applies the Sharpshooter to Nikki and leaves her laying there.
Result: No-Contest (match never started)
Kalisto vs. Dolph Ziggler
Kalisto goes for a roll-up but Ziggler escapes. Ziggler hits a dropkick and goes for the cover. Kalisto counters it and rolls up Ziggler for the win.
Result: Kalisto defeats Dolph Ziggler by pinfall (rollup)
After the match, Ziggler attacks Kalisto with a steel chair. As he walks back, Apollo Crews comes out and punches Ziggler. He throws him back into the ring. Ziggler gets the chair and proceeds to beat both Crews and Kalisto with it.
American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable) vs. The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton w/ Luke Harper) for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships
Orton tries to tackle Chad Gable but Gable hits him with a right hand. Gable climbs to the top rope and hits a crossbody. He goes for the cover but Orton kicks out at two. Luke Harper climbs onto the apron and tries to distract the ref. Orton swings Gable outside of the rope to go for a DDT but didn’t see Harper and hits him. Harper falls off and Orton hits a hard DDT. Randy sets up for an RKO but is distracted by Luke Harper trying to climb in the ring. Gable pushes Orton in Harper and rolls him up for the win.
Result: American Alpha defeats The Wyatt Family by pinfall (Chad Gable pins Randy Orton by roll up)
After the match, Randy Orton and Luke Harper stare each other down. They start shoving each other but is separated by Bray Wyatt who tries to calm them down. Orton tries getting past Wyatt to get to Harper and Harper kicks him. He misses, however, and hits Wyatt instead. Wyatt gets back up and walks out on the two.
Backstage, Daniel Bryan announces that next week there will be a steel cage match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship between Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch.
Carmella vs. CJ Lunde
CJ Lunde was distracted by James Ellsworth pulling on her foot. Carmella locked in the Code of Silence to take the win.
Result: Carmella defeats CJ Lunde by submission (Code of Silence-Modified figure four head scissors)
John Cena vs. Baron Corbin
John Cena won his returning match against Baron Corbin after hitting a Attitude Adjustment. He and AJ Styles stared each other down at the end of the match.
Result: John Cena defeated Baron Corbin by pinfall (Attitude Adjustment-Fireman’s Carry Slam)
