I despise the Chiefs. I despise Alex Smith. I was actually hoping the Broncos and Raiders would push the Chiefs out of the playoff picture, but Derek Carr was injured and the Broncos offense was too sporadic to contend. So here we go again with the Chiefs again in the playoffs. Over the past two regular seasons, the Chiefs have the best record overall. Since the hiring of Andy Reid in 2013, the Chiefs have only missed the playoffs once and have never finished worse than 9-7. The Chiefs run the ball well and play good defense. They also tend to throw the short passing game which infuriates every football nerve that I may have left. The one thing the Chiefs do have is Tyreek Hill. Hill is the one guy that add points to the game and can completely change field position with his return skills. He can operate out of the backfield, the slot, and can give the chiefs the explosiveness and excitement that can keep us all interested whenever they play. I wonder if the Chiefs will fall flat on their faces again this playoff season or will they actually perform the way we all hope.
Longest Win Streak (5): Raiders, Saints, Colts, Jaguars, Panthers
The Chiefs only lost two games since mid October, ending the season 10-2. The one concern I have at the moment is the Chiefs lost those two games against the Bucs and the Titans, at home. The Chiefs have a first round bye, so they have the opportunity to rest up and wait for their next opponent. With an offense that isn’t super-spectacular, those short passes, defense and running game should hold up as the Chiefs are looking to make it to the Championship game.
