This season since stepping in for the Cowboys, Dak Prescott has taken what the defense gives him and just played football. This rookie is humble, patient and strong minded. He appears to be a natural born leader and has the attention of his teammates. This rookie is not looking at just once receiver and taking off running. He is going through his reads and throwing the ball to whoever is open. If they are not open then he tries to use his legs or just throw the ball away. He is playing very well and better than I expected at this point in the season.
The Cowboys are faced with having a quarterback issue when Romo is fully healthy. There are people that are saying to start Dak since the team is winning and one game away from the bye week and then you have people that are saying let Romo play because he is not afraid to throw it deep and take more chances. I can understand both sides of the argument but I am a big fan of “if ain’t broke don’t fix it”. The team is on a roll and yes I don’t expect them to win all the games but right now they are clicking and why mess that up. If the Cowboys were losing and looking bad then I would be all for it but let the young rookie keep getting real game experience. This will only help him in the long run because he will be the face of the Cowboys when Romo decides to hang it up or injury makes him hang it up.
This will be a hard decision for the front office to make but if Dak leads the Cowboys to a win over the packers on the road, they will have a hard time giving reasons why he should not be starting after the bye week. I still love Romo to death but right now is not the time to come in after another back injury. If they do start Romo, I will support him with all my heart if we win or lose. I can say this, the fan base will have mumbles if we start losing with Romo under center. I don’t think it will happen but the football gods have a way for forcing things.
Until next time
HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!!!
